Renfe train from Cadiz station to Jerez de la Frontera - 8.40 € p/p
Jerez de la Frontera to Parque González Hontoria- bus stop is just outside the station on the main road. It will say Feria on the display and fare is 1.00€ p/p
Free entry at the fairground. A must-visit if in Andalucía in May - one of Spain's top festivals.
During the day, carriage processions of different styles and exquisitely decorated parading the grounds; ladies strolling elegantly in beautiful flamenco style dresses. Purebred Andalusian horses smartly guided by their riders in their horse riding costumes. Flamenco music sounds; group of dancers started a "sevillana"; booths offering glasses filled with rebujitos (7up and sherry wine) and fino wine. 5.00€ p/p - worth a try for the price.
At dusk, everyone awaited patiently for the lights to turn on. And finally, to the applause of the crowd - wow, what a light show. Has to be there to witness it fully, words or photos or videos not enough to describe the incredible display.
