Ischia

Italy's Volcanic Paradise of Thermal Spas and Rich History

Ischia Porto

Ischia is a volcanic island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, located off the coast of Naples. It is the largest of the Phlegrean Islands and is a popular tourist destination known for its thermal spas, beaches, and beautiful scenery. The island has a rich history, dating back to ancient times, and has been inhabited by various cultures, including the Greeks, Romans, and Aragonese. Some of the popular attractions on the island include the Aragonese Castle, the Maronti Beach, the thermal parks of Poseidon and Negombo, and the picturesque town of Forio.

We spent the last day in Naples by relaxing at the Negombo Thermal Park in Ischia.

Travel

1. Ferry: The most common and affordable way to reach Ischia from Naples is by taking a ferry. You can take a ferry from the port of Naples to Ischia Porto or Casamicciola Terme, which are the two main ports on the island. The journey takes around 1 hour and the frequency of the ferries varies depending on the season. We purchased our tickets at Caremar ticket-office at Naples port . €12.90 p/p one way

2. Bus: From the Ischia Porto, you can take bus number 1 or CS to Lacco Ameno, which is where the Negombo Thermal Park is located. The journey takes around 20-25 minutes and the bus stop is located near the entrance of the park. Fare on the bus is €2.00 p/p one way.

Entrance Fee

  • Full-day ticket (9am to 7pm): €36 p/p

  • Half-day ticket (2pm to 7pm): €30 p/p

Children under the age of 12 and seniors over the age of 65 receive discounted rates, and there are also family and group tickets available at reduced prices.

It's worth noting that the entrance fee includes access to all the thermal pools, the private beach, and the gardens, as well as the use of sun loungers and umbrellas. Some of the other attractions in the park, such as the spa treatments and the restaurants, are available for an additional fee.

** Please check the official website or contact the park directly for the most up-to-date information on entrance fees, opening hours, and other details before planning your visit.
