4-5 May 2022
Accommodation
Quiet, comfortable in old town - (2 nights)
Apartment is very nice, in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, Restaurants, supermarket within minutes. Tina is very responsive. Highly recommended.
Very convenient to visit Cordoba especially during the patio festival. It is located in the San Marina district. Most patios are located very close by and also within walking distance to all major attractions like the Mezquita, Roman bridge - 20 mins walk. Palacio de Viana, literally 1 min walk away.
Strolling the San Marina district in the evening is very safe, stopping for a beer and tapas, and catch a glimpse of the different patios, churches, cute alleyways.
Our visit was planned to coincide with the patio festival. Some patios are free but we leave a small tip for the owners for their amazing displays.
To get a glimpse of the gorgeous patios bursting with vibrant blossoms, wander around the Alcázar Viejo district, between the Alcázar and the Iglesia de San Basilio; around the Santa Marina district; around the Iglesia de San Lorenzo; and near the Iglesia de la Magdalena. Many exquisite patios as well as on the Calleja de las Flores (Alley of the Flowers) are found in the old Jewish quarter, the area surrounding the Mezquita.
The walk around the San Basilio area is very pleasant and there are some lovely squares with bars and restaurants. Definitely worth doing if you have the time for a nice stroll around and a beer en route.

Bell Tower - Purchased ticket early in the day after visiting the Mezquita Catedral for last visit of day when it is less busy - 3€ p/p.
Roman Bridge - Featured in Game of Thrones Season 5. Different view in the evening and during the day. We enjoyed it most in the evening because of the atmosphere and no crowd. Beautiful photo opportunities. - 4 mins walk from Mezquita.
Calle de las Flores - The Calleja de las Flores is one of the most popular and tourist streets of the city of Córdoba. It is a narrow passageway with arches and stones that finished in a square where the visitor find a series of flowerpots with geranium and carnations. From the Calleja de las Flores you can have one of the most romantic general views of the Mezquita-Catedral.
Plaza del Colon - Artist Jose Manuel Belmonte sculpture.
Plaza de Manuel Garrido Moreno (patio de San Basilico)- Artist Jose Manuel Belmonte sculpture
Palacio de Viana - The most elegantly decorated historic patios featuring 12 different courtyards and a beautiful fountain. https://www.palaciodeviana.com/
Alcazar de Christian Monarchs and Alcazar Andalusia de Cordoba - we visited late afternoon to avoid tours crowd and long entry queues.
