  • Capri is a picturesque island located in the Bay of Naples. It is famous for its stunning natural beauty, vibrant nightlife, and rich history. Some of the top attractions on the island include:

  1. Blue Grotto - a natural sea cave known for its striking blue water

1. From ferry dock to bus station in Capri town Piazzetta

You can walk or take a funicular train that connects Marina Grande to Capri town. The funicular train station is located near the dock and it takes about 3-5 minutes to reach Capri town. Once you arrive in Capri town, you can easily find the bus station in the Piazzetta.


2. Look for the bus that goes to Anacapri. The bus line is operated by the company "ANM" and the buses are usually white with blue and red stripes.


3. Board the bus and make sure to validate your ticket using the machine on board. If you don't have a ticket, you can purchase one at the ticket office at the bus station or from the driver.

4. The bus ride takes about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. You will pass through some scenic areas of the island, so enjoy the ride!


5. Once you arrive at Piazza Vittoria in Anacapri, you can easily find the Seggiovia Monte Solaro chairlift, as it is located in the center of the square.

The single-seater chairlift ride to the top of Mount Solaro is an experience in itself, offering a unique perspective of the island as you ascend up the mountain.


The trip uphill takes 12 minutes, and has beautiful views over the historic center of the town


of Anacapri from a unique vantage point, passing directly above the rooftops, surrounding fields, and woods, almost touching the treetops with your feet.

As we got further from the overcrowded city, the only sounds were the chirping birds, casting a serene soundtrack to the sights that grew more impressive as we inched closer to the top.


The view from Mount Solaro is breathtaking, offering panoramic views of the island of Capri and the surrounding sea. From the summit, you can see the Faraglioni rock formations, the Bay of Marina Piccola, the Bay of Naples, and the Sorrentine Peninsula in the distance.

You'll see the lush vegetation of the island's interior, and the crystal-clear turquoise waters surrounding the island.

Anacapri

We spent a couple of hours at the top before we hiked down.


Hiking down, from the summit of Mount Solaro to Anacapri is a beautiful and rewarding experience, offering stunning views and a chance to explore the island's natural beauty.

The trail down is well-marked and relatively easy to follow, although it can be steep and rocky in places, so it's important to wear sturdy shoes and take your time. Along the way, you'll pass through groves of olive trees and fragrant Mediterranean vegetation, and have the opportunity to see some of the island's wildlife, such as lizards and birds.

The path also consists of 14 stations, each representing one of the Stations of the Cross and featuring a small shrine or chapel dedicated to a saint or a religious figure. At each station, you can take a moment to reflect and say a prayer, or simply admire the view and the peaceful surroundings.

The trail eventually leads to the town of Anacapri, passing by the picturesque Villa San Michele and the Church of Santa Sofia along the way.

The entire hike takes about 1-2 hours depending on your pace and the stops you make along the way.


After the hike, we roamed the quaint and charming streets of Anacapri for a couple of hours before enjoying a well-deserved lunch in Piazza Vittoria. We spent the rest of the afternoon relax on the beach and the beautiful blue sea before boarding the boat back to Salerno.
